Japanese electronics major Murata Manufacturing will make an entry into India's expanding electronics industry with a new Chennai factory. The firm, a major supplier of iPhone components, has taken on rent a 3,500-square-meter space at OneHub Chennai Industrial Park. Murata plans to begin packaging and exporting multilayer ceramic capacitors from here, with full-fledged operations to be initiated in FY2026. This strategic foray enables Murata to get familiar with Indian factory operations and pave the way for future expansion in manufacturing. The company follows industry leaders such as Corning and Jabil into the state, further establishing Tamil Nadu's status as a base for advanced electronics manufacturing.
