The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued detailed exam day guidelines for JEE Main 2026. Candidates must follow rules on dress code, reporting time, and permitted items. Carrying admit card, photo ID, and self-declaration form is mandatory, while electronic gadgets and jewelry are strictly prohibited inside exam centers.

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026 Session 1 begins on January 21 and will run until January 29, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). With lakhs of students appearing for this crucial engineering entrance test, the NTA has released clear instructions to ensure smooth conduct of the exam.

Candidates must report to centers as per the time mentioned on their admit card, allowing sufficient time for biometric verification. Entry will not be permitted after gate closure. Students are advised to carry essential documents and follow the prescribed dress code to avoid last-minute issues.

Jewelry, metallic items, handbags, and wallets
Food items other than those permitted for diabetic candidates

Exam Schedule
Paper 1 (BE/BTech) will be held in two shifts daily from January 21 to 24 and again on January 28 and 29
Morning shift: 9 am to 12 pm; Afternoon shift: 3 pm to 6 pm
Paper 2 (BArch/BPlanning) will be conducted on January 29 in a single shift from 9 am to 12:30 pm
