Regulatory Development
The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), Hyderabad bench has officially allowed the withdrawal of the corporate insolvency resolution process (CIRP) for KSK Water Infrastructures Private Limited (KWIPL), following a debt settlement proposal submitted by JSW Energy.
* The Committee of Creditors (CoC) had earlier approved JSW Energy’s proposal to settle KWIPL’s outstanding liabilities
* The tribunal’s nod marks a significant step in JSW’s post-acquisition consolidation of KSK Group assets
Strategic Implications
* KWIPL is a key ancillary to KSK Mahanadi Power Company Ltd, which JSW Energy acquired in March 2025 for ₹16,084 crore
* The withdrawal enables JSW to streamline operations and unlock synergies across power generation and infrastructure assets
* This move supports JSW’s broader goal of achieving 20 GW capacity by FY2030
