Indian motorists woke up to unchanged petrol and diesel prices on July 1, 2025, as oil marketing companies kept rates steady for yet another day. The last major revision in fuel prices was back in March 2024, and since then, prices have remained largely stable despite fluctuations in global crude oil markets and currency exchange rates.
Key Highlights:
Delhi: Petrol at ₹94.72–94.77 per litre, Diesel at ₹87.62–87.67 per litre.
Mumbai: Petrol at ₹104.21 per litre, Diesel at ₹92.15–90.03 per litre.
Chennai: Petrol at ₹100.75–100.85 per litre, Diesel at ₹92.34–92.39 per litre.
Kolkata: Petrol at ₹103.94–105.41 per litre, Diesel at ₹90.76–92.02 per litre.
Other Cities: Bengaluru petrol at ₹102.92, Hyderabad at ₹107.46, Lucknow at ₹94.69, Pune at ₹104.04, Chandigarh at ₹94.30.
Prices are reviewed daily at 6 AM by oil marketing companies, factoring in international crude oil prices, rupee-dollar exchange rates, and local taxes. Despite global oil price volatility—Brent crude hovered near $67.61 a barrel—Indian fuel prices have been insulated by stable tax policies and dynamic pricing mechanisms.
State taxes and local levies continue to cause variations in rates across cities. As monsoon season progresses and global oil trends remain unpredictable, consumers are advised to check daily updates for the most accurate fuel prices.
