In a record-shattering display of power-hitting, Sunrisers Hyderabad posted a mammoth total of 278/3 in their 20 overs against Kolkata Knight Riders. Heinrich Klaasen led the charge with an explosive unbeaten 105 off just 39 balls, smashing 7 fours and 9 towering sixes at a strike rate of 269.23.
Travis Head gave the innings a fiery start with a 40-ball 76, including 6 fours and 6 sixes, while Abhishek Sharma chipped in with a quickfire 32 off 16. Klaasen and debutant Aniket Verma (12* off 6) finished the innings with a flurry, adding crucial runs in the death overs.
Despite fielding seven bowlers, KKR had no answers to SRH’s aggressive batting. Vaibhav Arora was the most economical among them with figures of 1/39 in 4 overs, while others like Harshit Rana and Varun Chakaravarthy leaked runs at over 13 per over.
With 24 runs coming in extras, this marks one of the highest-ever totals in IPL history. KKR now face a daunting chase as they look to scale a record target under pressure.
