Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has clinched multiple substantial grid infrastructure orders valued between ₹25 billion and ₹50 billion, encompassing power transmission and distribution projects in India, the UAE, and Oman. Larsen & Toubro’s Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) business vertical has recently won significant orders for grid infrastructure projects, reaffirming its leadership in power sector engineering and construction. The contracts, valued between ₹25 billion and ₹50 billion, span diverse geographies including India, the United Arab Emirates, and Oman.

In India, L&T is tasked with upgrading power distribution systems in two towns, incorporating advanced technologies such as SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) for smart monitoring and control. The project also involves installing distribution transformer stations and converting overhead lines to underground cabling to enhance reliability and safety.

In the UAE, the company will design and construct two ±300 MVAr STATCOM systems. These highly sophisticated devices provide dynamic reactive power compensation, stabilizing voltage and improving power quality at existing 400 kV substations. The fast-acting STATCOM systems are vital for grid stability, especially as renewable energy penetration increases.

In Oman, L&T will establish a new 400/132 kV grid substation along with a 400 kV transmission line segment, contributing substantially to strengthening the nation’s power infrastructure.
