L&T Wins Major Contract for Riyadh Metro Extension, Strengthens Global Infrastructure Footprint

Mumbai, January 28, 2026 Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T) announced that its Heavy Civil Infrastructure vertical has won a major contract from the Royal Commission of Riyadh City, Saudi Arabia, for the extension of the Riyadh Metro Red Line. The order is part of an ultra-mega consortium project involving Webuild S.p.A, Nesma & Partners Contracting, Alstom, and IDOM.

The scope of work includes design and turnkey construction of an 8.4 km metro line, comprising both elevated and underground sections, along with five new stations. This win underscores L&T’s proven capabilities in delivering fast, reliable, and complex mass transit systems globally.
