Mahindra South Africa has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Industrial Development Corporation to investigate the viability of setting up a Completely Knocked Down (CKD) assembly plant for vehicles in South Africa. The strategic development is set against the background of Mahindra's manufacturing of its 25,000th locally produced Pik Up on February 24, 2025. The investigation will look at such elements as automotive incentives, export possibilities, and infrastructure for supply chain. Although no deals have been done yet, the project is part of South Africa's Automotive Master Plan 2035. Rajesh Gupta, the CEO of Mahindra, highlighted the fact that the venture shows how much the firm believes in long-term involvement in the South African market and creating new job opportunities
