Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the 47th Annual General Meeting of the Prime Ministers Museum and Library (PMML) Society at Teen Murti Bhawan in New Delhi and revealed a vision broad in scale to reinvent India's museum landscape and preserve its democratic legacy.

Visionary 'Museum Map of India
PM Modi suggested the development of a "Museum Map of India" to present a collective, digital map of Indian museums' cultural and information space, which would enable increased access for citizens and tourists alike to find and access India's rich heritage.

National Museum Database
He advocated a national database for all museums, monitoring key statistics such as visitor figures and quality levels, and technology use for better management and access.

Youth-Led Innovation
Modi proposed that the five members from each state below 35 be constituted into committees to bring new ideas and thinking to the management of museums and outreach.

Safeguarding the Emergency Period
Marking 50 years of Emergency, the PM directed the compilation and preservation of all the legal cases and records of the era so that future generations and historians can access this critical era in the history of India.

Justice to Prime Ministers' Legacies
Modi added that creating a museum dedicated to all the Indian Prime Ministers, including Jawaharlal Nehru, has been a balanced tribute to their history—something that was missing before 2014.

Engagement and Capacity Building
He underlined the necessity of frequent workshops for museum professionals, cooperation with leading influencers, and having embassy officials in as guests to increase global awareness of India's treasure trove of museums.

Preserving the Present for the Future
The PM also stressed the significance of recording current events and documents sequentially for the benefit of future research and knowledge.

Symbolic Tree Planting Modi also planted a Kapur (Cinnamomum camphora) tree in Teen Murti House, symbolizing growth, heritage, and sustainability. The meeting was attended by senior Union ministers and new members of the PMML Society, showing greater commitment to cultural preservation and innovation. "Museums can empower us to live history. We need to work hard to raise their prestige and public outreach all the time." — PM Narendra Modi
