McProtein Revolution: Swiggy and McDonald’s Serve Up India’s First High-Protein Burger Line

Swiggy and McDonald’s India (West & South) have teamed up to launch the Protein Plus Range of Burgers, a limited-time offering available exclusively on the Swiggy app from July 24 to August 11, 2025. This collaboration marks a major step in making fast food more nutritionally conscious without compromising on taste.

Key Highlights:

- The Protein Plus burgers feature a plant-based slice made from soya and pea protein, adding 5 grams of protein and only 34 kcal per slice

- Developed in partnership with the Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), under the Ministry of Science and Technology

- Available in 58 cities including Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Kochi, Vizag, Surat, and Mysore

- Vegetarian options: McSpicy Premium Veg, McVeggie, Crispy Veggie Burger, McSpicy Paneer

- Non-vegetarian options: McSpicy Premium Chicken, McCrispy Chicken Burger, McChicken, Masala McEgg, 
McSpicy Chicken

Millet Bun Upgrade:

- Select burgers now come with Multi-Millet Buns co-created with CFTRI

- Made from five nutrient-rich millets, these buns offer added fiber, vitamins, and minerals

- Available with McAloo Tikki, McChicken, McVeggie, McSpicy Chicken, McCrispy Chicken, and Crispy Veggie Burger

Swiggy’s Role:
