‘Metro… In Dino’ Opens at ₹3 Cr—Anurag Basu’s Anthology Outpaces Prequel by 300%

Anurag Basu’s much-anticipated romantic drama ‘Metro… In Dino’ hit theatres on July 4, 2025, and clocked an estimated ₹3.04 crore on its opening day, according to early reports. That’s a 300% jump over its spiritual predecessor Life in a… Metro (2007), which had opened at ₹87 lakh.

 

Starring Sara Ali Khan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Konkona Sen Sharma, Pankaj Tripathi, and others, the film explores modern love through interconnected stories set in urban India. Despite a modest 13.6% occupancy rate, the film is gaining traction in metros like Bengaluru, which reported the highest footfall.
