Teenage tennis prodigy Mirra Andreeva continued her impressive run at Wimbledon 2025, defeating Italy’s Lucia Bronzetti in straight sets, 6-1, 7-6 (7-4), to secure a spot in the third round. The 18-year-old Russian, seeded seventh, displayed a blend of power, poise, and tactical brilliance on Court One, reinforcing her status as one of the brightest young stars on the WTA Tour.
Andreeva dominated the first set in just 24 minutes with aggressive net play and a commanding serve. The second set proved more challenging, as Bronzetti raised her level and even served for the set. But Andreeva showed maturity beyond her years, breaking back and eventually sealing the match in a tense tiebreak.
“I got a little nervous, but I’m happy I pushed through,” Andreeva said in her post-match interview. “My coach [Conchita Martinez] won’t let me rest—she’s already planning the next practice!”

Andreeva, already a WTA 1000 champion this year in Dubai and Indian Wells, is the youngest player left in the women’s draw. Her run to the fourth round at Wimbledon in 2023 as a 16-year-old had already turned heads, and her 2025 campaign is shaping up to be even more formidable.
