Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) has extended the additional charge of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) to A. Robert J. Ravi for another six months. The move ensures leadership continuity across MTNL, BSNL, and BBNL as the government continues its telecom sector restructuring efforts.
The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has extended the tenure of A. Robert J. Ravi as CMD of Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) for six months, effective October 15, 2025. Ravi, who also holds CMD responsibilities at Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) and Bharat Broadband Network Ltd (BBNL), will continue in his role until April 14, 2026, or until a regular appointment is made.
The extension, approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), comes at a critical juncture as the government pushes forward with telecom sector reforms, including merger plans and operational restructuring.
