Titagarh Rail Systems Ltd has secured a landmark contract from the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) valued at ₹2,481 crore for executing a comprehensive metro development package under the Mumbai Metro Line 5 project. The scope covers the full life cycle from design and manufacturing to integration, testing, and commissioning of multiple systems critical to metro operations.
The project spans both Phase 1 (Kapur Bawadi–Kasheli–Dhamankar Naka) and Phase 2 (Dhamankar Naka–Bhiwandi–Kalyan APMC), introducing next-generation communication-based train control (CBTC) technology and modern station safety systems.
Titagarh Rail will not only deliver the rolling stock but will also handle telecommunication networks, platform screen door systems, and depot machinery. This contract underscores its growing role as one of India’s leading metro rolling stock and systems integrators.
