The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has been allocated Rs 2,918 crore in the Union Budget 2025-26 for the Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS). This funding will support the ongoing construction and expansion of the 82-km corridor, which began operations in Delhi this January. The allocation, though lower than last year's Rs 3,855 crore, will help complete key sections, including the Sarai Kale Khan station. The RRTS aims to revolutionize regional connectivity, reducing travel time between Delhi and Meerut to just 40 minutes.
