NTPC Renewable Energy Expands Solar Capacity: 110 MW Added from Two Projects

NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, a part of NTPC Green Energy Limited, has declared the commencement of commercial operations of incremental solar capacities. The firm has hired 60 MW from the 320 MW Bhainsara Solar PV Project at Rajasthan, starting from January 7, 2025. The operational capacity of the Bhainsara project stands at 220 MW in total, following the first 160 MW from August 28, 2024. Its other 50 MW from the 220 MW Shajapur Solar Project (Unit-II) in Madhya Pradesh also initiated operations on January 10, 2025, raising its operational capacity to 100 MW in total. These additions contain major milestones in NTPC's renewable energy growth commitment to India's green energy mission. They also raise the NTPC group's installed power to 76,708.18 MW.
