NTPC’s 5 MW Solar COD Marks Another Step Toward 87,809 MW Installed Capacity

NTPC Limited has announced that its joint venture, NTPC-SAIL Power Company Ltd (NSPCL), has successfully declared the Commercial Operation Date (COD) for an additional 5 MW solar capacity at the Maroda Reservoir-I Solar Power Project in Bhilai, effective January 2026.

This incremental addition is part of the 15 MW solar project, further strengthening NTPC’s renewable energy portfolio. With this declaration, NTPC Group’s total installed capacity has reached 87,809 MW, while its commercial capacity now stands at 86,729 MW.

The move highlights NTPC’s continued commitment to expanding clean energy infrastructure and supporting India’s transition toward sustainable power generation.
