Orange Alert Issued For North Bengal, Yellow Alert For South Districts

The IMD’s latest advisory highlights severe weather conditions across Bengal. While North Bengal faces an orange alert due to heavy rainfall and possible flooding, South Bengal districts have been placed under a yellow alert, signaling moderate but significant weather activity.

Districts in North Bengal, including Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, and Cooch Behar, are expected to witness intense rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms. Authorities have warned of waterlogging, landslides, and transport disruptions.  

Yellow Alert For South Bengal  
South Bengal districts such as Kolkata, Howrah, and South 24 Parganas are under a yellow alert. Moderate rainfall and gusty winds are forecast, with advisories urging residents to avoid unnecessary travel and stay indoors during peak weather activity.
