Indian para-cyclists won 11 medals, including two silver and nine bronze, at the Thailand Para Cycling Cup 2025, highlighting their growing prowess and the impact of structured training programs.

The Indian para-cycling squad turned heads at the Para Cycling Cup 2025 in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand (held December 5–7), bringing home a haul of 11 medals — including two silver and nine bronze — underscoring the growing depth and promise in India’s para-cycling ranks.

Key Highlights:

Silver and bronze surge for young talents

15-year-old Lisha (Assam) raised the bar with a silver in the 1 km Time Trial, along with bronze in the 200m sprint and Individual Pursuit in track events.
16-year-old Vishva (Gujarat) impressed with three bronze — in the 1 km Individual Time Trial, Individual Pursuit, and 200m sprint — showing maturity and speed beyond his years.

Podium finishes across track and road events

On the road, both Vishva and Lisha clinched additional bronze in Individual Time Trial events.
Other medal-winning performances came from Yogesh (Maharashtra) and Prashant (Maharashtra), both grabbing bronze in their respective road-event categories.

Depth of team and competitive spirit

The 10-member Indian contingent, coached under the aegis of the Aditya Mehta Foundation (AMF), competed against para-athletes from 12 countries, reflecting growing international exposure.
The grit and determination of the team shone through, even as a seasoned competitor — a Paralympian who recently underwent surgery for a fractured arm — narrowly missed a medal, finishing fourth.

Momentum for bigger arenas ahead

With this standout performance in Thailand, India’s para-cyclists have made a strong statement — bolstering confidence as they gear up for bigger events, including potential qualification for the upcoming Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, and the 2028 Paralympics.
