Piramal Pharma Ltd’s Board of Directors has given the green light to an ambitious expansion plan of up to $90 million, with a major focus on scaling its Lexington, Kentucky facility in the United States. This strategic investment underscores Piramal Pharma’s commitment to strengthening its position as a global leader in complex injectables and contract manufacturing.
 
Key Highlights:
  • Major Investment in the U.S.: The company will invest $80 million in expanding its Lexington, Kentucky site, adding 24,000 sq ft of manufacturing space, a new laboratory, and advanced machinery. This will more than double the facility’s capacity from 104 to over 240 product batches annually by Q1 2027, meeting surging demand in the injectables market.
  • Driving Innovation in Injectables: The Lexington site specializes in sterile compounding, liquid filling, and lyophilization for sterile injectable drugs. The expansion will support Piramal’s integrated antibody-drug-conjugate (ADC) program and attract new client commitments for commercializing products at the site.
  • Job Creation & Economic Impact: The project will create over 40 full-time jobs in Kentucky, boosting the local economy while enhancing Piramal’s global manufacturing footprint.
