As June begins, bank customers should take note of upcoming closures to avoid disruptions in their financial activities. Next week, from June 2 to June 8, 2025, banks in certain Indian cities will remain closed for two days due to important religious observances.

Key Highlights:
  • Banks in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram will be closed on Friday, June 6, 2025, in observance of Id-ul-Ad'ha (Bakrid), a major Islamic festival.
  • On Saturday, June 7, 2025, Bakri ID (Id-Uz-Zuha) will be observed, leading to bank closures in most states except Gujarat, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, and Kerala, where banks will remain open.
  • In addition to these regional holidays, all banks across India will be closed on Sunday, June 8, as part of their regular weekly off.
  • The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) emphasizes that bank holidays are not uniform across the country and vary by state and city, depending on local festivals and customs.
Customers are advised to plan their in-person banking tasks—such as cash deposits, cheque clearances, and branch visits—before these dates to avoid inconvenience.
Despite physical branches being closed, digital banking services like UPI, IMPS, NEFT, and internet banking will remain operational, ensuring uninterrupted access to essential financial services.

Stay informed and plan ahead to manage your banking needs efficiently during the upcoming holiday week.
