The Chandigarh Transport Department has received its first batch of 25 electric buses, which will operate across the Tricity region. The flag-off ceremony will take place at Sector 43 ISBT, Chandigarh, with Punjab Governor and UT Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria present. The buses feature a 224 km range per charge and a low-floor design of 400 mm, ensuring accessibility for senior citizens and differently-abled passengers.
Future Expansion
Chandigarh is set to receive a total of 100 electric buses under the scheme, with 75 more to be delivered in phases. This makes Chandigarh the first city in India to receive delivery of these advanced low-floor AC electric buses.
