Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in Bhopal today to mark the 300th birth anniversary of Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar, the legendary 18th-century queen renowned for her visionary governance and social reforms. The celebration, held at the Mahila Sashaktikaran Mahasammelan, is witnessing the participation of over two lakh women from across Madhya Pradesh.

  • PM Modi is releasing a commemorative postage stamp and a unique ₹300, 35g coin featuring Ahilyabai Holkar’s portrait, honoring her enduring legacy.
  • He will present the National Devi Ahilyabai Award to a distinguished woman artist for contributions to tribal, folk, or traditional arts.
  • The Prime Minister is virtually inaugurating the first 6-km stretch of the Indore Metro, part of a ₹7,500 crore urban mobility project, and opening new airports in Satna and Datia to boost regional connectivity.
  • Modi is laying the foundation stone for ghat construction along the Kshipra River in Ujjain, a ₹860 crore initiative to prepare for the Simhastha Mahakumbh 2028, including barrages and dams for water management.
The event also marks the launch of 1,271 Atal Gram Seva Sadans (panchayat buildings) with an investment of ₹483 crore to strengthen rural governance.
