Popular Vehicles to Launch Ather EV Operations in Chennai by September

Popular Vehicles and Services Ltd is set to commence operations for Ather Energy’s electric twowheeler facilities in Chennai by September 2025, backed by a Rs 7.5 million investment.

Operational Rollout

The company’s unit has received a Letter of Intent (LOI) to establish and manage Ather dealerships and service centers in Chennai.
This marks Popular’s second major EV collaboration with Ather, following its successful rollout in Trivandrum.

Strategic Expansion

The move aligns with Popular’s broader strategy to deepen its footprint in the fastgrowing electric mobility segment.
The Chennai facility will offer sales, service, and spare parts support for Ather’s 450X and 450 Apex models.

Market Impact

With Tamil Nadu emerging as an EV manufacturing hub, Popular’s entry is expected to boost regional adoption and customer access.
The investment complements the company’s integrated mobility ecosystem, spanning passenger vehicles, commercial fleets, and EVs.
