Power Grid Corporation of India Limited has announced two significant transmission milestones under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (LODR) Regulations, 2015. The Board has cleared a major refurbishment capex while one of its key Western Region expansion schemes has entered commercial operation.
The twin developments underscore POWERGRID’s continued focus on strengthening grid reliability, enhancing transfer capability and supporting growing power demand in the Western region and beyond.

Project cost estimated at ₹1,226.93 crore, with an implementation schedule of 36 months from the date of award.
Objective is to modernise critical HVDC assets and improve reliability of bulk power transfer in the region.
POWERGRID has also successfully commissioned the “Western Region Expansion Scheme‑XXV (WRES‑XXV)” with effect from 12 November 2025.
Confirmation of Date of Commercial Operation (DOCO) for WRES‑XXV was received on 17 December 2025.
The scheme adds transformation capacity at key nodes, aiding load growth and integration of generation in the Western grid.
