Vraj Iron and Steel Limited has formally opened operations at its new power plant in Dighoia, Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh. The milestone was reached on March 21, 2025, as part of the company's expansion project. The power plant is meant to boost the company's manufacturing capacity, which already boasts two operational units in Raipur and Bilaspur.
Commissioning of equipment at the plant has commenced, with commercial production expected to commence in the next quarter. This move is expected to enhance Vraj's ability to manufacture sponge iron and other steel products and further strengthen its hold in the central Indian market.
The firm hopes to utilize this power plant to enhance efficiency in operations and lower energy consumption costs.
