WhatsApp is going to enhance its voice and video calling feature with three significant new features. The features will enhance functionality and user engagement, with more control and interactivity during a call.
Major Features Revealed
1) Mute Option for Calls: Users will be able to mute incoming calls from the notification shade itself without needing to open the app. This option is convenient, especially during busy hours.
2) Turn Off Video Before Answer: A new feature will allow users to turn off their video before answering a call. This provides added privacy and convenience, especially in situations where users may not want to be on-camera immediately.
3) Emoji Reactions on Video Calls: WhatsApp will introduce emoji reactions to video calls, and participants will have the option to respond with up to six different emojis. The feature is expected to make group video calls more interactive and engaging.
Currently, these features are being tested on a small group of beta testers and are expected to be released worldwide within the next few months.
