In a sensational display of power-hitting, Punjab Kings posted a mammoth total of 236/5 in their 20 overs, led by a blistering 91 off just 48 balls from Prabhsimran Singh. The opener set the tone early, hammering six fours and seven towering sixes at a strike rate nearing 190.
Supporting him brilliantly, Shreyas Iyer played a captain's knock with a quickfire 45 from 25 balls, while Josh Inglis chipped in with 30 off 14, maintaining the momentum through the middle overs. Shashank Singh (33* off 15) and Marcus Stoinis (15* off 5) provided the perfect finish, accelerating in the death overs with an explosive stand.
Lucknow’s bowlers endured a tough outing. Mayank Yadav conceded 60 runs in his 4 overs, while Avesh Khan went for 57. None of the bowlers managed to contain the flow of runs, with only Akash Singh being the most economical of the lot. Akash Singh and Digvesh Singh Rathi picked two wickets each, creating speed-bumps for the Punjab Kings.
Punjab Kings' aggressive batting has now set a towering challenge for their opponents, who will need to pull off one of the highest chases in T20 history to clinch victory.
