Rajasthan is powering ahead as India’s green energy powerhouse, with Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma chairing a high-level review of 31 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth a staggering ₹4.23 lakh crore. These agreements, inked at the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit, are set to transform the state’s energy landscape with a proposed 66.4 GW of wind and hybrid energy capacity.
Key Highlights:
Massive Investment Pipeline: Of the 31 MoUs, 14 worth ₹2 lakh crore (26,970 MW) have already been registered, and work has commenced on 12 projects, signaling rapid progress from paper to action.
Battery Storage Boost: The summit also saw 18 MoUs in the battery storage sector, totaling ₹53,900 crore, including deals with both manufacturers and developers, positioning Rajasthan as a leader in energy storage solutions.
Major Collaborations: Notable partnerships include NHPC’s pact with RVUNL for 2,000 MW of pumped storage, Tata Power’s MoU to accelerate rooftop solar adoption, and a ₹22,000 crore agreement with SCCL for a 1,500 MW solar park.
Clean Energy Policy Push: The state’s Clean Energy Policy-2024 aims for 125 GW of solar capacity by 2030, with a focus on solar, wind, hybrid, battery, and green hydrogen projects.
