Razorpay, NPCI, and OpenAI have jointly launched Agentic Payments in India, introducing the country’s first AI-powered conversational payment experience. In a groundbreaking collaboration, Razorpay, NPCI, and OpenAI have unveiled Agentic Payments—India’s first AI-powered conversational payment experience. This marks a major milestone in the evolution of digital commerce, allowing users to delegate purchasing decisions and UPI transactions to trusted AI agents.

Key Highlights:

Launch Announcement: The private beta of Agentic Payments was announced on October 9, 2025, during the Global Fintech Festival in Mumbai.

AI-Powered Transactions: Users can now instruct AI assistants like ChatGPT to find products and complete purchases via UPI without manual intervention.

Technology Backbone: NPCI’s new infrastructure tools—UPI Circle and UPI Reserve Pay—enable secure pre-authorized payments within user-defined limits.
