Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) delivered a commanding performance to defeat Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 50 runs in a thrilling contest. Batting first, RCB posted a strong total of 196/7 in their 20 overs. In response, CSK struggled to build momentum and could only manage 146/8 in their allotted overs.
CSK's chase started on a shaky note as Rahul Tripathi (5) and skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad (0) fell early to Josh Hazlewood’s brilliant bowling. Rachin Ravindra provided some hope with a fighting 41 off 31 balls, but his dismissal at 75/5 in the 12th over sealed CSK’s fate. MS Dhoni’s late cameo of 30* off 16 balls entertained the fans but was not enough to turn the tide.
For RCB, Hazlewood (3-21) and Yash Dayal (2-18) starred with the ball, dismantling CSK’s batting order. Earlier, their batsmen had set up the victory with a collective effort, ensuring a strong total on the board.
With this win, RCB strengthens its position in the tournament, while CSK will have to regroup quickly to stay in contention.
