Honda Cars India is gearing up to launch the hybrid variant of its popular Elevate SUV by the second half of 2026. Sharing its powertrain with the City e:HEV, the Elevate Hybrid promises improved fuel efficiency, enhanced performance, and advanced safety features, paving the way for more hybrid models in India.
The much-anticipated Honda Elevate Hybrid is slated for launch around late 2026 in India, following Honda’s strategy to expand its hybrid portfolio. The Elevate Hybrid is expected to use the proven 1.5-litre Atkinson cycle petrol engine and hybrid powertrain, similar to the City e:HEV, delivering around 125 bhp and a peak torque of 253 Nm.
Manufactured at Honda’s Tapukara plant in Rajasthan, the hybrid Hybrid will feature a self-charging battery system and an e-CVT gearbox, promising mileage estimates exceeding 25 km/liter. It will compete in the midsize SUV segment priced under ₹20 lakh, challenging rivals like the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Hybrid.
Apart from the hybrid powertrain, the Elevate Hybrid could receive an updated Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), offering enhanced safety and convenience. The launch aligns with Honda’s ambition to introduce several hybrid SUVs alongside new electric SUVs by 2030 to meet evolving consumer demands and regulatory norms.
This hybrid rollout marks the beginning of a new era for Honda in India, focusing on fuel-efficient and eco-friendly mobility while retaining performance and comfort.
