REC Strengthens Transmission Network: Velgaon Power Transmission Incorporated as RECPDCL Subsidiary

REC Limited, a public sector major and a market leader in the power sector under the Ministry of Power, has announced the incorporation of Velgaon Power Transmission Limited as a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL). The move is part of the company's strategic initiative to strengthen India's renewable energy evacuation infrastructure and drive the country's ambitious green energy aspirations.

Apart from Velgaon Power Transmission, RECPDCL recently invited tenders for constructing interstate transmission systems to evacuate 2.5 GW of renewable energy from Madhya Pradesh. The projects will incorporate state-of-the-art substations and transformers to provide efficient power supply.
