Reliance Jio expands 5G coverage to 90 percent of Northeast India, aims to double subscriber base

Reliance Jio has achieved a significant milestone in its 5G rollout, covering 90 percent of the population in Northeast India. The announcement was made by Mukesh Ambani at the Rising Northeast Investors Summit 2025, where he outlined Jio’s ambitious plans to further expand digital connectivity in the region.

 

Network expansion and subscriber growth

- Jio currently has over 5 million 5G subscribers in Northeast India and aims to double this number by the end of 2025

- The company has invested approximately ₹30,000 crore in the region over the past four decades to enhance digital infrastructure
