Telangana is gearing up for a spectacular Sankranti celebration with the Grand Kite and Sweet Festival, set to unfold at Parade Ground, Secunderabad between January 13 and 17. Minister Jupally Krishna Rao emphasized that the festival will not only honor tradition but also serve as a major tourism attraction.
The event promises vibrant skies filled with colorful kites flown by 40 international kite flyers from 19 countries and enthusiasts from 15 Indian states. Alongside, sweet stalls will showcase delicacies from across India, offering visitors a taste of diverse regional flavors. Aviation clearance has been secured for a hot air balloon show (January 16–18), while evenings will feature dazzling drone light shows.
By extending kite flying activities around city lakes, the festival also aims to raise environmental awareness and highlight the importance of preserving natural resources.
