Rajasthan continues to face intense heat waves with temperatures exceeding 45°C in several districts, with Jaisalmer touching a record 48°C—the state high and national high. A heatwave warning has been issued by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicting extreme weather for the next five days, worsening the ongoing dryness.

Places such as Barmer, Churu, Bikaner, Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Ganganagar are experiencing severe heatwave conditions, with the mercury fluctuating between 44°C and 48°C. Blistering sun and hot winds have forced people to stay inside, with roads looking almost deserted during daytime hours. People are taking preventive precautions such as covering their heads, drinking plenty of water, and staying indoors during daylight hours.

IMD officials have also forecast red alert in western Rajasthan border areas and anticipate temperatures to be dangerous, with average humidity levels of 20-40%, increasing the heat. Relief is expected after May 25, with possible thunderstorms and light rain in the state's eastern and western sides.

The government has recommended that vulnerable groups like children, the elderly, and people with chronic conditions take extra precautions during this heatwave.
