Prescription Revolution:
As a significant step towards health digitalization, 48 of the 54 Lucknow Urban Primary Health Centres (UPHCs) have launched digital prescription facilities. This is to bring the era of uncertainty caused by poor handwriting to an end and to automate patient care.

Major Developments:
Prescriptions are being printed and affixed to every patient's Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) ID

Patients and pharmacists can simply read about medicines, reducing errors

Medical histories are stored electronically, facilitating future consultations

The other 6 UPHCs will implement the system shortly

108 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs in urban areas will be implemented next

Why It Matters: This step ensures a more efficient record-keeping, enhances doctor-patient communication, and reduces the likelihood of misinterpretation of prescriptions. It is a small technological tweak with significant implications for the provision of public health.
