In a stunning display of poise and grace, Selma Kamanya from Namibia has been the crowned Top Model Africa at the Miss World Festival. The 72nd Miss World Festival took place at the Trident Hyderabad. The hardworking Tyra Banks, with a fierce runway presence and self-assurance, took home the prestigious title of Top Model Africa and secured an automatic spot at the Miss World 2025 Quarterfinal.
The Top Model event is one of the most highly anticipated and well attended events for the Miss World contestants and Miss World organization. The Top Model competition reinforces the unique personality and individuality of each contestant, as well as exuding confidence, stage presence, heritage, and cultural performance represented on stage. Along with Selma Kamanya, other continental Top Model winners included Jasmine Gerhardt of Ireland (Europe), Nandini Gupta of India (Asia and Oceania), and Aurélie Joachim of Martinique (Americas and the Caribbean).
The Miss World Festival Two (2) day event also featured awards for outstanding designer fashion with specific awards presented at the event for runway style in designer fashion to specific contestants. The designers and models that received specific accolade included contestants from South Africa, Puerto Rico, New Zealand, and Ukraine.
Selma Kamanya's appointment of Top Model Africa brought her one step closer to the Miss World crown as the competition continues toward Grand Finale on Tuesday, May 31, 2023 in Hyderabad.
