Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is closely monitoring the installation of a new 60-foot bronze statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at Rajkot Fort in Malvan. This project, awarded to renowned sculptor Ram Sutar's firm, follows the collapse of the previous 35-foot statue in August 2024. The new statue, costing ₹20 crore, is expected to be completed within six months. Yesterday's foundation ceremony, led by Minister Nitesh Rane, marked the beginning of this ambitious project. The government has emphasized strict quality control measures to ensure the statue's longevity and structural integrity, addressing concerns raised after the previous incident.
