Himachal Pradesh is witnessing harsh winter conditions, with heavy rain and snowfall bringing widespread disruption. More than 500 roads have been blocked, water supply has been disrupted, and power outages have been reported throughout the state. The Chandigarh-Manali highway was shut temporarily because of a landslide near Banala in Mandi district. Snow-covered high hills and heavy rainfall in mid and lower areas. Avalanches and landslides have also closed the Shimla-Kinnaur highway at several points. The India Meteorological Department predicts sustained wet conditions in the Western Himalayan region, with light to moderate rain and snow likely at most places on March 3, 2025. Tourists and locals are requested to be cautious and keep themselves informed about weather updates.
