In a groundbreaking outreach initiative, students from Rich Harvest School in Jammu made their way to the esteemed Jagti campus of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu on May 28, 2025. The day was filled with learning, inspiration, and a chance to explore career options. Under the guidance of the institute’s Director, BS Sahay, 38 students—15 girls and 23 boys—from Classes XI and XII, along with four faculty members, participated in this event, which is part of IIM Jammu’s ongoing effort to engage young minds and spark their aspirations.
The day began with a warm welcome in the Grand Reception Area, followed by a guided tour of the campus’s stunning architecture. Highlights included the iconic Clock Tower, the Courtyard, Nalanda Library, Smart Classrooms, Mandapam Auditorium, Vedanta MDP Block, Rangmanch Amphitheatre, and Jalpan Kendra. Each location provided students with a glimpse into the vibrant academic and cultural atmosphere that characterizes IIM Jammu.
Shyam Narayan Lal, Chairperson of Anandam: The Centre for Happiness and the Media and Publication Committee, encouraged students to ground their ambitions in India’s rich civilizational heritage while aligning their aspirations with the vision of a self-reliant and prosperous Bharat. A standout moment of the day was an engaging career counseling session, where students discovered academic pathways to prestigious institutions like the IIMs and IITs, and explored future opportunities at IIM Jammu itself. The session ignited lively discussions, with students eagerly participating and seeking guidance on their career paths.
The visit left a profound impact, motivating students to dream big and pursue excellence in their academic and professional endeavors.
