Myntra has unveiled its newest initiative, 'Dream Room Inspirations,' a revolutionary aspect of the shopping experience, powered by Google Cloud’s advanced artificial intelligence (AI). This product will allow countless Indian shoppers to visualize and "customize" the decor of their dream rooms with ease, significantly improving the experience of purchasing home decor.
The new feature works by using Google’s Imagen 3, which runs on Vertex AI to transform simple text prompts into stunningly rich room inspirations. Shoppers begin by selecting a room type, for example, a bedroom or living room, and then select from several trending design themes, such as: Bohemian Chic, Eclectic Flair, Chic Coastal, Modern Minimalist and Indie Corner. The AI then generates detailed images based on the customer's style and room specifications and style value to discover products.
On the announcement of this launch, Lakshminarayan Swaminathan, Vice President - Product Management and Design at Myntra said, “With Dream Room Inspirations, we’re enabling a truly effortless experience to the customer journey - inspiration to product exploration - setting a benchmark in AI-driven retail."
This launch comes on the heels of announcement that Myntra’s Home category has begun to grow at an astonishing rate of around 60% year-on-year, with subcategories such as Living & Décor and Kitchen & Appliances growing well over 100%. In 2024, an estimated 20 million Indians shopped online, indicating a large demand in the home interior design segment. In anticipation, Myntra has added 70% to their home portfolio, and offers over 500,000 styles from more than 1,700 brands, and approximately 40,000 new products every month.
