National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI) organized its fourth Food Delivery Summit on April 30, 2025, at Le Meridien, New Delhi, which welcomed more than 2,000 participants, 50+ speakers, and 300+ brands to discuss emerging challenges and opportunities within India's food delivery landscape.
Key Highlights
Focus Areas: The deliberations were on tech-enabled profitability, hyperlocal delivery models, policy frameworks, and alternatives to dependency on aggregators. The popular panel discussions were Tech as a Margin Multiplier and Winning Alternatives to Aggregator Dependency.
Leadership Insights: Sagar Daryani, President of NRAI and co-founder of Wow! Momo, reiterated the requirement of fair partnerships, reduced commissions, and consumer data access in order to decrease costs and increase transparency. He stressed Gen Z's need for value-based, convenient solutions.
Industry Synergies: Cloud kitchen stakeholders, logistics, technology disruptors, and investors brainstormed solutions such as hybrid delivery-dine-in models and data-driven promotions to drive profitability.
SME Challenges: Lower restaurants are being squeezed on profitability due to steep aggregator commissions and lack of customer data access, which led NRAI to seek legal and operational solutions.
The summit highlighted the need for synergy-driven solutions to promote sustainable growth in India's rapidly evolving food delivery industry.
