Sunflowers & Silver Screens: Paw Paw Welcomes Film Fest’s Radiant Return

The Sunflower Film Festival will return to Paw Paw for its second annual showing from June 19 through June 22, 2025, at The Lucky Wolf Theater and other venues throughout town. Founded by Jason Deibler-Love in memory of his late wife India Love, the festival seeks to raise awareness and assist in eliminating the stigma of mental illness—a cause near and dear to its founder's heart.

 

This year's festival holds out the promise of a diverse range of films around the world, all with themes of hope, mental health, and environmental health. They're augmented by interactive panels, music performance, and satellite events, so there is a celebration from the people. Deibler-Love, now supported by a board of former Sundance Film Festival administrators, is expecting a larger audience and a larger bang after last year's inaugural success.

 

Local leaders like Visit South Haven's Jennifer Sistrunk view the festival as yet another means of solidifying Paw Paw's growing reputation as a cultural hub, bridging its successful music and wine industries. The Sunflower Film Festival honors India Love's heritage while also aspiring to put Paw Paw on the map as a destination for impactful cinema.
