Suzuki has formally entered the world of electric scooters with the introduction of the e-Access, a smart EV model that's perfect for city commuting. Jam-packed with next-generation e-Technology, the e-Access plans to revolutionize urban daily commutes with its Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery, belt drive that never needs any maintenance, and sophisticated ride modes.

1. Key Features and Performance

Battery Technology:
  • The 3kWh LFP battery provides better thermal stability, extended life, and improved safety over conventional NCM batteries.
  • It goes through intense testing, such as temperature stress, submersion, and puncture testing, to ensure ruggedness under harsh conditions.
Ride Modes and Efficiency:
  • Suzuki Drive Mode Selection (SDMS-e) enables riders to customize power delivery according to traffic conditions.
  • Regenerative braking assists in recharging the battery, prolonging ride time.
Durability and Reliability:
  • The scooter passes 12 rigorous tests for reliability, such as drop tests, vibration tests, and tests for extreme temperatures.
  • The maintenance-free belt drive has a lifespan of up to 7 years or 70,000 km, lowering the cost of long-term ownership.
2. Market Impact and EV Adoption Trends
  • Penetration of EVs in India has increased from 1.9% in FY 2021-22 to 6.1% in FY 2024-25, with electric scooters driving the transition at 16.2% adoption.
