Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 has begun a campaign revolution with brands investing ₹550 crore in influencer-led campaigns. Influencers are revolutionizing the game of ads by firing up millions of fans on social media through live match chat, memes, and interactive content. There have been 315,000 influencer posts and 3.2 billion engagements during the last season alone, a trend that will be repeated this year.
The industries leading this shift are entertainment (30%), FMCG (25%), and consumer electronics (15%). Micro and local influencers are now in the limelight, offering real-time engagement with various audiences. Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts are buzzing with IPL content, while gamification and live sessions give additional boosts to fan engagement.
Experts note that influencers are now equal to conventional media when it comes to influence, making them inevitable for brands looking to integrate themselves with the IPL frenzy.
