Tata Electronics is ramping up its workforce by 15,000 employees at its Hosur facility in Tamil Nadu over the next six months. This aggressive hiring supports the company’s expanding manufacturing footprint, anchored by rising demand from global clients like Apple, positioning India as a key player in global electronics production.
Tata Electronics Private Limited is accelerating recruitment efforts in India, planning to increase its workforce at the Hosur plant from approximately 60,000 to 75,000 employees within six months to meet surging demand from international technology giants, especially Apple. This ambitious hiring aligns Tata Electronics with employment levels comparable to Foxconn in India, signaling India’s rapid advancement as a global electronics manufacturing hub.
The expansion follows Tata’s significant revenue growth, leaping from Rs 3,752 crore in FY24 to Rs 66,601 crore in FY25, reflecting the company’s strong performance in the semiconductor and electronics manufacturing services (EMS) sector. Government initiatives like the India Semiconductor Mission and supportive PLI schemes underpin this growth trajectory.
While the hiring surge fosters job creation and regional economic benefits in Tamil Nadu, the company faces challenges in sourcing skilled talent, as India’s electronics industry grapples with a workforce skill gap.
With new investments underway, including upcoming semiconductor fabs in Gujarat and Assam, and partnerships with major global players, Tata Electronics is well positioned to lead India’s electronics revolution.
