Tata Steel is celebrating ten years of its flagship Diversity & Inclusion initiative, MOSAIC, launched in 2015 to make inclusion a lived experience across the company. The milestone coincides with Pride Month, reinforcing the company’s long-standing commitment to equity in the workplace.

Key Highlights:

- MOSAIC is built on five pillars: recruitment, sensitisation, retention and development, infrastructure, and celebration. It supports women, persons with disabilities, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and Affirmative Action groups.
- Over the past decade, Tata Steel has launched several standout initiatives:
- Women of Mettle scholarship (2017)
- Women@Mines program (2019)
- Queerious, a case study competition for LGBTQIA+ students
- Integration of transgender HEMM operators in mining (2021)
- Ananta Quest for students with disabilities (2023)
- India’s first all-women mining shift at Noamundi (2024)
- The company offers inclusive HR policies such as gender-neutral parental leave, equal benefits for LGBTQIA+ partners, and support for gender transition.
- Tata Steel aims to reach 20% workforce diversity across the group by 2028. It was also named a Global DEI Lighthouse by the World Economic Forum in 2023 and a Gold Employer by the India Workplace Equality Index for four consecutive years.

This anniversary isn’t just a celebration—it’s a reminder that inclusion is a journey, not a checkbox. Tata Steel’s decade-long effort shows how corporate India can lead with purpose and persistence.
