Tesla is making significant strides towards its long-awaited entry into the Indian market. The electric vehicle giant has finalized locations for two showrooms - one in New Delhi's Aerocity and another in Mumbai's Bandra Kurla Complex. Both showrooms will span approximately 5,000 square feet and are strategically located near international airports. This move follows Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent meeting with Tesla CEO Elon Musk in the United States. Tesla has also posted job listings for 13 mid-level positions in India, including store and customer relationship managers. The company plans to initially sell imported EVs through these showrooms, with the Model Y expected to launch in the second half of 2025.
