Reece Howden of Canada won gold in World Cup ski cross at Craigleith Ski Club, Ontario, defeating Switzerland's Alex Fiva. Teammate Kevin Drury took bronze after beating Germany's Florian Wilmsmann. Howden's win was his fifth World Cup of the season and brought him into second place in the overall ranking. Drury's third place was his fourth of the season and left him in sixth overall. Both of the Canadians impressed with strong games in the competition, with Howden winning past a tough quarterfinal to conquer in front of home fans.
